It Will All Be Okay In The End.....

"People who have only good experiences aren’t very interesting. They may be content, and happy after a fashion, but they aren’t very deep. It may seem a misfortune now, and it makes things difficult, but well—it’s easy to feel all the happy, simple stuff. Not that happiness is necessarily simple. But I don’t think you’re going to have a life like that, and I think you’ll be the better for it. The difficult thing is to not be overwhelmed by the bad patches. You must not let them defeat you. You must see them as a gift—a cruel gift, but a gift nonetheless.”- Peter Cameron

I am so thankful I found this quote when I did. Life hasn't been too easy lately and have been completely overwhelmed by it. And sometimes I feel like a bitter bitch whenever I hear about other people's good fortune's. I absolutely hate being that person but there are times when I can't help it. I start my own "pity me" parade and constantly ask the question "why me??". This quote has made me put things into perspective. Everything happens for a reason and I  need to take it in stride. The rough patches and the harsh lessons are what life is all about. It may sometimes feel like it is tearing you apart- but you will come out of it a better and stronger person because of it.

Newest Addition To The Family....Grace Kelly!!!

Aaron and I always knew we wanted to have one more dog. We decided awhile back that we would get it before we decide to have a baby. And we kind of just left it at that.

Mom called me on Monday and said that my aunt Cheryll was on a yard sale site on Facebook and saw these adorable Puggle puppies!!!!! (Puggle= half Pug, half Beagle). I immediately looked the puppies up and fell in love!!

I called Aaron and told him to look it up as well..... He fell in love too!

We can be very impulsive people.... so we purchased one today!!!

Introducing.... Grace Kelly!!!

We named her after Grace Kelly because Aaron is absolutely in love with her! Ever since Rear Window. She was beautiful.

First family picture. I look terrible! Hardly any make up and put a brush to my hair very quickly. We were just excited to get her!

Grace and my friend's Dave and Brandi's beautiful baby Lainey!

She is adapting well to our family. Her and our Pug Benny are getting along, just one of our cats (Dresden) is not a fan of her yet. With time, he will be!

My Mother's Version Of "Tattoo Thursday"!

My mom sent this to me on Facebook the other day- it's pretty funny so I wanted to share it with you all!

 Name: Mom

Age: Somewhere between 6 and 60

How old were you when you got your first tattoo: 5

Artist/sShop/Location: Not sure who the artist was - bought it in a pack of bubble gum at Toots - on Main Street.

Story behind each tattoo: My first tattoo was of Bugs Bunny - I had no choice in the matter - that’s what came in the gum package. Had I had a choice I was hoping for the elusive Tweety Bird - but alas, although I chomped my way through many a pack - never did I find Tweety. I’d never been inked before and you had to apply just the right amount of “spit” to make it look good - too much and it ran, too little and it didn’t come out completely and it would look like you had slid into first base and smooshed it. So, I swished and swirled the spit all around and then spat it right onto the tattoo - rolled it around a bit and slapped old Bugs right on my left arm. Held it for a bit and then pulled off the paper. He looked a bit too buck-toothed as it smudged a bit but I was pleased.

My second tattoo was Foghorn Leghorn and he was a nightmare. Someone told me to not use “spit’ but to run the tattoo under a running faucet and then apply. I did. This time to my ankle - the results - to say he needed a touch-up is putting it mildly. I looked like I had a purple and yellow disease on my leg. My friends looked at me and said “Ooooooooo - what happened to your leg - did you burn it?” So I just pulled up my ankle socks and hoped they wouldn’t roll down. It was summer - I was in shorts.

Do you plan on getting more?
I have no plans to repeat the ordeal unless of course I find the elusive Tweety Bird.

How does your family/friends react to your tattoos? Have you experienced any negativity?:
My mother told me to go wash that off - but I rebelled until bath time. My sisters thought I was a nerd anyway and just chalked it up to my nerdiness. My friends though - they were envious as hell. I now possessed both Bugs and some semblance of Foghorn Leghorn. They had wasted their allowance money on Popsicles and candy cigarettes - not me baby, I was getting inked!!!

Advice to others who are thinking about getting a tattoo who haven't yet?

Think about what your getting, don't just get something because its cool at the time. If you have a special hankering for Tweety - wait for it!! You might have to chew alot of bubble gum but if it is supposed to be for you - it will come. Oh ya, and use spit - works alot better than water!!

Thanks Mom!! :)

Tattoo Thursday! Vol.3

Name: Trisha

Age: 25

How old were you when you got your first tattoo: 19

Artist/sShop/Location: Mark/ Ink Mark/Yarmouth N.S  & Dan/ he doesnt have a shop anymore *my friends bf*
How many tattoos do you have: 2

Story behind each tattoo: My first tattoo took along time for me  to decide on what I wanted. I knew I wanted it to mean something or something I'll love forever. It shouldn't have been so hard for me to pick, it took someone to say to me,"um, Trisha why not?" before I clued into what I should get. I've been in love with Mickey Mouse since I was little, and when someone said why not him I knew that was it. I looked for a design I liked, and my boyfriend at the time drew something up for me. I got it on my lower back the "tramp stamp" area. I knew I didn't want anything like a butterfly or anything that was "norm", so he was defintely the way to go for me. I still love it, he just needs a touch up. He's faded and needs some work, and I want to get the T colored in :).
*picture is when it was just done I dont have one of it today :P*

My second tattoo is for my and my best friend Tawny ♥ We celebrated 10 yrs of friend ship *soon to be 11 in September*. So we were looking for something that was different, something alot of people didnt have.  We decided on a stick figure girl :) with the letters S.F.L under it. What's funny is we have been using SFL for YEARS, and in highschool we put it in our year book in print. I remeber Dana asking me "Trisha will you know what SFL means in 10 yrs?" and I said "yeah, I'm pretty sure I will! These girls will be my Sisters For Life ♥ ". Ten years went by and we all are still friends and all remeber what it means :)
* the one with the yellow dress and orange poky dots is mine and the orange dress with yellow poky dots is Tawnyas, My favorite color and her favorite color together :)*
We got it done by Tawyna's boyfriend because thats who she wanted to have the tattoo done by. I love it, its simple, but says so much :)

Do you plan on getting more? Yes I do! I know exactly what I want to get for my next one. I want it on my wrist and its a saying that's important to me, and for me to always remember. *I'll send a pic when I get it :)* I also want to get one for my kids ♥

How does your family/friends react to your tattoos? Have you experience any negativity?:
My mother, Oh God, she HATES them! She hates the idea of them, and she doesnt even acknowledge that I have them. My dad, I'm not sure. I know he doesnt like them but its like he doesnt care. He never says anything. My friends love them, even if they don't have them, they support me and what I choose to do with my body :). People I'm not sure. No one ever sees my Mickey Mouse one and I've never had any questions about the one on the back of my ankle. But I dont care what people think anyway! Tattoos are a way to express yourself. It's beautiful art that will be with you the rest of your life :)

Advice to others who are thinking about getting a tattoo who haven't yet?
Think about what your getting, dont just get something because its cool at the time. Think about it in the long run, will you like that in a year, 5, 10? If so, then go ahead and get it! Don't live with a regret. Dont let the thought of pain stop you, its really not that bad! I used numbing stuff my first time around, and my second time I used nothing. It's really not as bad as people or your friends make it out to be :) So go "get er done" if you really want it :)

Thanks so much Trisha for letting me share this! Love the Mickey Mouse tattoo, and hearing the stories behind it! :)

Favorite Things Wednesday!

1. New Theory of a Deadman CD! Been listening to it in the car all week- Love it!

Here's just one of the songs that I am currently obsessed with.....

2. The Mother of all Pregnancy Books! So far, this has been the best and most enjoyable pregnancy book I have read. It's funny, informative and it's Canadian!!

3. Listening to Adele on YouTube. I must have been living under a rock, because I just started listening to her this week! I knew the song "Rolling in the Deep" because our local radio station plays it ALOT but I didn't know any of her other songs. When I listened to "Someone Like You" I started to tear up! I know, I'm such a girl! And the fact that there are certain people that don't like her because she is "fat" for Hollywood standards (rolls eyes). I think it it refreshing to not have yet another cookie cutter cut out of a bleach blond bimbo that only can "sing" because of the sound studio! Music isn't about what you look like (which she is beautiful by the way) it's all about the lyrics, the emotion when you hear it and their voice. And she has a set of pipes! :)

4. The Walking Dead- T.V. Series. Aaron and I have been watching this again. It is such a great show! It's the most realistic view that if a zombie apocalypse happens (which according to Aaron, it will) this is what it would look like. The back stories and drama of the characters are just as interesting as all the crazy zombies that are around. It's not a parody of itself like Shaun of the Dead or Zombieland (which I love by the way). It takes itself seriously which is why I think it is so popular. Can't wait to watch Season Two!

Book Tuesday! (Posted on Wednesday!)

(Warning: This is a really random post!)

When I was young (in my teens especially) people who like to read were looked down upon. You must be a nerd, not much of a social life yada yada yada. They just didn't get how it could be a fun past time (I never understood how they could spend hours on end playing sports or getting high. To each his own!). Most of my summers that was what I would do, read a book. It was an escape for me.

Now it has become a more acceptable pass time. You don't get the weird looks from people anymore when you say it's what you like to do.

Every time I go into town, I do pick up a book. I try not to, but I can't help it. I justify it to myself all the time, ex. I could be spending that money on smokes or alcohol. Needless to say, our bedroom has stack upon stacks of books. My spare bedroom closet is also full of books :).

(To some, this would be a nightmare. To me, this is HEAVEN!! Would love to have a whole wall completely dedicated to books!)

My husband read maybe two books before he met me. At first he thought it was pretty weird that I liked to read for a past time. He wanted to see what all the fuss was about and picked up a book from a series that he read good reviews about (Jim Butcher- The Dresden Files.) (Note: One of our cats was named after the main character :))  Now he's pretty addicted as well. :)

(Sawyer from Lost- YUM!!!See- Reading IS Sexy! :) )

I do feel sorry for people who are not big readers. They really are missing out. Some of the books I have read have made such an impact on me that they stayed with me for days!
As Charlaine Harris would say, " Here's to books, the cheapest vacation you can buy!"

Mix Tape Monday!

1986 Edition!

This mix tape Monday will be featuring songs that were popular in 1986- the year I was born! Gotta love the 80's! These music videos make me smile!!! The big hair, the weird dancing, the wind machines ...AWESOME!

1. Walk like an Egyptian- Bangles (I wonder if my parent/aunts/uncles were into this new dance craze???)

2. Papa Don't Preach- Madonna (LOVE,LOVE Madonna! When I was little, I use to tape all her music videos. The tape is still floating around somewhere at my parents house.)

3. These Dreams- Heart (Everytime I hear a Heart song, it reminds me of my dad. He loved them back in the day. I knew most of the words to their songs growing up. My favorite was always "Alone".)

4. Hip to be Square- Huey Lewis and the News (This song reminds me of my cousin Krista. She used to dance to this song like a crazy person!)

5. Venus- Bananarama ( <3)

6. Danger Zone!- Kenny Loggens (Note: I saw him in concert my last Birthday!! :) )

:)

25 Lessons Learned....

It's my Birthday today! This has been a pretty crazy year! Dealt with things that felt almost unbearable at times, but I survived. I know I wrote a post not too long ago about the lessons I have learned in my 24 years, but you never stop learning, so I have a whole new list. Some of it is not pretty, and were a hard realizations about people and things in my life.

So here it is!

25 Lessons Learned:

1. Feeling weak is not a bad thing- it makes you human.

2. Sometimes doing the "right thing" isn't as easy as it sounds.

3. Stick up for yourself and stand your ground- no one else is going to do it for you.

4. Never take water for granted! Our well has gone dry TWICE this Summer :(

5. Never settle! Not in love, your career, ANYTHING! You are worth more than that. (This is something I had learned AGES ago, way back when I met Aaron. I was settling for everything in life because I thought I couldn't do any better.)

6. Striving for simplicity is not that simple.

7. Always pay attention to your gut- if it feels wrong, it usually is.....

8. Take action instead of bitching about it! :)

9. Surround yourself with positive people, and it will rub off on you. This is also true the other way around.

10. "Keep Calm And Carry On"

11. Bullshit might get you on top, but it doesn't mean you'll stay there!

12. I need to start taking pictures of my life, one day I'll look back and wish I did.

13. Rest is more important than you think. Make the time to get yourself recharged. A nap never hurt anyone either!
14. It's okay to be angry, but it's not okay to be cruel.

15. Don't take everything people say to heart.

16. You might not remember what they said, but you will always remember how you felt.

17. Say "I Love You" everyday.

18. Live life without regrets- always remember that at one point, it was exactly what you wanted.

19. "Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground."

20. Be the change you want to see in the world.

21. Laugh until you cry and your sides hurt. Cry until you can't cry anymore. Love with everything you have. Always "feel deep".

22. Be proud of your accomplishments.

23. No matter how hard you try, you can't motivate people. The best you can really hope for is for that person is inspired by the way you deal and act with everyday life. At the end of the day, it is their life.

24. Life is too short to read "bad books", really if it sucks and you are pushing your way through it, put it down!! (I know it's random. I just went through that one recently. :) )

25. I am always learning more and more things about myself. Every time I think I have myself figured out, I do something that I swore I couldn't/wouldn't ever do.

Hoped you enjoyed my list. Love to hear some of your "life lessons"!

Reason #158 and #159 why I LOVE Rob Zombie!

I am not the "Typical" Rob Zombie fan (if there really is such a thing). I am very girly and only briefly went through the Gothic phase in my teens. One thing never changed though, I LOVE ROB ZOMBIE!! His music, his movies... everything. Seriously, he (and his wife Sherri Moon Zombie of course) are the celebrities I would love to meet. Even over Johnny Depp as crazy as that sounds.

I just had to add these pictures, when I saw them I knew Aaron would love it.

# 158

Rob Zombie is a pug owner!!!!!! :)

#159

Not only does Rob Zombie wear sweater vests, he wears ARGYLE sweater vests!

Aaron's appreciation for Mr. Zombie has just went up a few notches!!

:)

Pre- Baby Bucket List and Happiness Project Update!

Here's a little update on how the "bucket list" is coming along.

We have now scratched off number 19 off the list. Fix Aaron's motorcycle!
He has been on it non-stop and loving every minute of it! For a while there, we were not sure if we we're going to be able to cross it off the list. We thought we might have to wait until next year. So Aaron is one happy camper!

Aaron and his dad last weekend put up a fence around our pool. It looks awesome!! Now, it just needs to be cleaned (it has taken awhile but it is almost ready) and it'll be done for summer!

We have started working on a budget. This is part of the bucket list and my Happiness project. I honestly don't know why we never sat down and did this five years ago. We're pretty comfortable, but I can just imagine we will be less stressed once we put this into practice.

There is still quite a bit of items to tick off on the pre-baby bucket list. It is coming along nicely and I am not complaining. But I have to be honest, I am having days where I am getting these feelings like something is missing in our lives. (I blame all my friends who have these adorable babies!! :) )Every time I mention it to Aaron I get the "deer caught in the head lights" look. :) Maybe it is just a woman thing, I am not sure. I am getting a little nervous that he will never be where I am at. I know it is irrational, but sometimes I feel that way.

I think he must have alot of anxiety about this, and he may feel that he will not measure up. I don't feel this way at all. I am so lucky to have him in my life and the fact that someday he will be the father of my children brings tremendous happiness. I know he will be an amazing father, Aaron is his own worst critic.

Someday..... minus the hair :)...... <3

Movie Friday!

Top 20 Most Shocking Movie Endings!

(Note: This is my opinion of course! All these movies had the same reaction from me, which was "Holy Shit!!!" :) It really takes alot for me to be shocked at a movie- I have seen so many, and usually can guess the "shocking twist" of alot of movies. Ex. Sixth Sense and Shutter Island.)

Hope you enjoy the list!

20. Scream 4- Can't believe I was shocked at the end, but I was! Love the Scream series! This was the best out of all the sequels.

19. Friday the 13th Remake- One particular scene we were both pretty shocked at with this one. This is one of the best remakes/reboots out there if you love the horror genre.

18. Vertigo- Love Alfred Hitchcock and Jimmie Stewart. Pretty shocking ending.

17. Rec 2- Just watched this last night with Aaron. It was great and actually made me jump at parts. Loved the twist!

16. Splice- A really good sci-fi movie. Pretty twisted at the end.

15. Fallen- Love, love, love this movie!!! You will never think of the Rolling Stones song "Time is on my Side" quite the same again after this movie!

14. Night of the Living Dead- This, in my opinion, was the only amazing movie that came from George A. Romero. His other movies are just plain crap. This is a classic and it should be seen at least once to say that you watched it.

13. The Orphanage- Creepy!

12. Human Centipede- This movie was just crazy!! I don't think Aaron and I will ever watch it again. What is so scary is that this can actually be done!

11. Martyrs- This was a really good movie, but not one I would watch over and over again. It was disturbing and very, very graphic violence.

10. Hard Candy- Everyone should see this movie! Ellen Paige and Patrick Wilson are amazing together.

9. Se7en- I remember my mom did not want me to see this when it first came out. I waited to see this when I was about 21 and Aaron and I moved into our second place. I do understand why she didn't want me to see this when I was 13 and started to watch horror movies. This movie is just too real! Not like the movies I was watching at the time about Freddy and Jason. I think I appreciate this movie alot more because I waited until I was older.

8. Frailty- Had NO idea that ending was coming! Worth the watch for sure!

7. Wild Things- Aaron was working until 11pm one night and I saw this on the Scream network so I thought I would just give it a try. Every time I thought I knew what was going on, something else happened! It was crazy.

6. American Psycho- WOW, that's all I've got to say...

5. High Tension- You either love or hate this ending, to be honest.

4. Saw- I remember watching this with my dad for the first time and we were glued! When that ending happened, we looked over at each other and said "Holy Shit!" and started laughing. Awesome ending!

3. The Mist- Aaron and I had to rewind because we could not believe what we just saw!

2. Eden Lake- This is the scariest movie I have EVER watched! Will never let my mom see it, or she'll will try to make me quit my job.

Last but definitely NOT least.....

1. Sleepaway Camp!!!- Ahhhh.... memories! Terra and I rented a whole bunch of old 80's horror one night for a few laughs. We loved this movie. When that ending happened, I'm sorry but nothing else compares to it! We were so shocked! We watched again the next night because it was so good. It is just so campy and just the typical horror movies of that time, until THAT ending!! Perfect!! :)
